Our Minister - Dennis E. Niva, B.A.

Our Elders

Dennis Niva was born in Goldendale, WA, moved to Sacramento, California and graduated from Bella Vista High School in Fair Oaks, CA. He is married to Ginger Stephens Niva and they just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They have two daughters, Christina and Lori and 4 grandchildren, 3 girls and one grandson.

Dennis attended Columbia Christian College in Portland, Oregon, graduated from Preston Road School of Preaching in Dallas, Texas in 1972. He came back to the Pacific NW and helped to plant a Church of Christ in Silverton, Oregon. He then became the minister for the Church of Christ in Prineville, Oregon, he then became the minister for the Mount Lake Terrace Church of Christ, and was instrumental in establishing several congregations in the greater

Seattle area. He preached for the Marysville Church of Christ for 5 years and then left full time ministry to go into Funeral Service for 17 years. He managed several funeral homes and then was asked to serve the now 92nd Street Church of Christ in 2009 to the current date. Dennis attended Columbia Christian College in Portland, Oregon, He and his wife Ginger moved to Dallas, Texas to attend and then graduate from Preston Road School of Preaching later he took several classes at Puget Sound College of the Bible, in Edmonds, Washington. Everett Community College, in Everett, Washington as well as Skagit Community College in Mt. Vernon, Washington. He received his Bachelor of Ministry degree from Christian Bible College and Seminar, in Blue Springs, MO. He is currently working on his Master’s Degree in Christian Counseling. Dennis has preached for the 92nd Street Church of Christ for the past 9 years.

Dennis has his Traumatology certificate from Florida State College and is also a certified Chaplain working with the Marysville Police and Fire Departments. He is a past President of the Washington State Funeral Directors Association and a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner as well as a Celebrant. He is active in Rotary International and served as President for two different clubs. He is the past Chairman of the Board for The Greater Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce. He believes in ministering to the community and has worked in various out-reaches to the community. Through his involvement in the community, the congregation has been able to serve many families through memorial services and lunches in the new building and Event Center. Dennis’s primary purpose is to serve Christ and bring the Gospel message of salvation to the community.
