The 92nd St Church of Christ has a number of ministries that we support. In most cases these ministries are in continual support by our congregational body.
We know that we are not always able to attend, due to illness, or some other reason. Therefore, every week we record the sermon delivered to the congregation.
"The church that Jesus died to bring into existence is simply the family of God. It has nothing to do with facilities, or certain ministries, or programs of work."Our world has a somewhat confused idea about what the church is. The church that Jesus died to bring into existence is simply the family of God. It has nothing to do with facilities, or certain ministries, or programs of work. It is an non-denominational group of believers who recognize that God has added us to His family by virtue of what Jesus did on the cross. Some of Jesus' last words on earth were when he prayed in John 17 for the unity of all believers.
The early church started out great with literally thousands of souls coming to be baptised as they accepted the message of grace through faith in Christ. The church was highly regarded by the community and God blessed them as they understood that they had a higher calling than living for themselves. Even in the New Testament, early Christians, as the believers came to be called, had a difficult time in living up to their calling. Some of them often became self-centred, easily swayed by false teachers, and prideful. Thus, it is not our aim to simply make the first century church a blueprint for today. It is our aim to use the New Testament teachings as our guide in all matters of faith. This is not to deny the guidance of God's Spirit. He will guide us into all truth as we seek to follow the scriptures.
The church belongs to Christ and He is the Head of the church, Colossians 1:18 and He is over all things for the church Ephesians 1:22,23
The Church is a family of believers striving to live a Christ like life.

Upon hearing and understanding the Word of God one comes to a belief in Christ. John 8:24; Hebrews 11:6; Acts 16:31; Romans 5:1
Upon hearing and understanding the gospel we are to Repent of our sins. Luke 24:47; Luke 13:3; Acts 2:38; Acts 17:30,31; Acts 26:20
Public confession Jesus of the Lord is made. Matthew 10:32,33; Romans 10:10; 1 Timothy 6:12
The next step is to be baptised for the remission or washing away of our sins Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; Galatians 3:26,27; Baptism is a burial and a resurrection Romans 6:3-5; Colossians 2:13; Hebrews 10:22
Saved individuals are then added to the church by God. Acts 2:41-47; Acts 5:14, 11:24
We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus, the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.
The church is to follow the pattern that Jesus laid out for it and each congregation governs itself
guided by the Bible. 1 Corinthians 4:17.
When men are qualified to serve as Elders or Deacons they are to meet the qualities found in 1 Timothy 3:8-13; They are then appointed to the responsibility of spiritually overseeing the congregation and are selected by the congregation.
The object of worship is Jehovah God and we worship Him in spirit and truth.
The Christian life is a life of faith and trust, each Christian is Justified by faith, Romans 5:1,2 Walks by faith Hebrews 10:37-39
We celebrate the Lord’s Supper or Communion each Lord’s Day. Acts 20:7
We believe in the Second coming of Christ, the judgement, and a life with God for eternity. God gave us an option as to where we will spend eternity, in Heaven with Him or in Hell with the devil and his angels.
We are non-denominational (self-governed). We sing A'cappella to the praise of The Father.
